Equality Isn’t a Vibe—It’s a Daily Practice
"You can’t sage away structural inequality."
May kicks off our exploration of Equality, and we’re not holding back. Because here’s the thing: the wellness world loves to talk about "good vibes only," but healing isn’t neutral. It’s political. And it doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
If we want to talk about belonging—truly, deeply—we have to look at who is being included, who is being centred, and who is being asked to shrink. Equality isn’t just about treating everyone the same. It’s about equity, access, and accountability.
The Myth of the “Equal” Space
Let’s call it out: just because a space has yoga mats and herbal tea doesn’t mean it’s safe for everyone. From pricing that excludes, to cultural appropriation, to environments that centre white, thin, able-bodied people as the default—wellness often leaves people out while pretending to welcome all.
It’s not always intentional. But it’s still harmful.
What Equality Actually Looks Like in Wellness
At REESET, equality means creating spaces where:
🧘🏽♀️ Every body is honoured – Not just those who fit the Instagram aesthetic.
💸 Access is intentional – Sliding scales, scholarships, location choices—because belonging shouldn’t come with a luxury price tag.
🎤 Voices are amplified, not tokenised – Representation matters, but not if it’s performative. Real inclusion means shared power.
👂 Listening replaces assuming – We don’t assume needs. We ask. We learn. We unlearn.
Your Role in the Movement
Equality isn’t a one-time checkbox. It’s an ongoing, imperfect practice of showing up, speaking out, and making space.
If you’re a participant:
Ask how spaces are built—and who they’re built for.
Support facilitators who prioritise equity.
Notice who’s missing, and why.
If you’re a wellness professional:
Audit your pricing, language, and partnerships.
Offer choice and consent in your sessions.
Pass the mic when needed—and step aside when appropriate.
Radical Belonging Starts With Brave Choices
Equality isn’t the end goal—it’s the beginning of something better. A wellness world where no one has to leave parts of themselves at the door. A movement where diversity isn’t decoration, but the foundation.
This May, we challenge you to go beyond awareness. Bring action into your wellness spaces. Hold the door open wider.
Because when equality becomes a practice, belonging becomes possible.
